Dennis Saddleman Coronation Medal Ceremony

Join us in honouring Dennis Saddleman—Coldwater Elder, poet, and Survivor, as he receives the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his lifelong dedication to healing, storytelling, and community advocacy.

The Coronation Medal was created to mark King Charles III’s coronation and honours individuals who have made meaningful contributions to their communities or brought recognition to Canada. A total of 30,000 medals were awarded nationwide.

Dennis received his medal in the Senate Chamber on September 28, 2025, alongside fellow members of the Survivors’ Circle from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, together with members of the Governing Circle. The event was hosted by Senator Brian Francis, Senator Boyer, and Senator White.

“The Coyote howled in the Senator’s House. This medal is not only for me — it’s for all Survivors here and those who have taken their spiritual journey.”
