Commemoration Ceremony: To Honour Our Mistreated Ancestors Live
Commemoration Ceremony: To Honour Our Mistreated Ancestors
In the 1990s, ancestral remains disturbed by past development in Williams Lake were returned from the Royal BC Museum. Guided by Elders, Williams Lake First Nation ensured a respectful reburial process. Over the years, sites impacted included the Boitano Mall, Comer Hill Pub, Sikh Temple, Western Avenue Trailer Park, and the Highway 20 connector.
A headstone will now be placed at the reburial site overlooking the T’exelc community to honour these ancestors.
